boar's bristle brush from a esthetics supply or art store is sufficient).

your mask treatment with a moisturizer of your choice.
Repeat the facial mask every third day.
HUNGARIAN APOTHECARY MUD BODY WRAP
COLD OR HOT APPLICATION

Hungarian Apothecary Mud was originally developed for use in softening
and conditioning sun-damaged, mature or dry skin and may be used
to soften and moisturize the skin on a regular basis.
The body wrap treatment was devised to condition the skin for hair
removal one or two days before the hair removal. However, this body
treatment (minus the Salt Scrub) may be applied after hair removal
to soften and condition the skin, or after a day in the sun to sooth
inflammation and irritation. This body wrap is a very healing treatment
for the mind and the body. Giving back to the body through the gifts
of the earth is a very centering and therapeutic ritual in your
busy schedule and the often exhausting and stressful demands of
living in New York City and indeed the rest of the world.
Body Wrap Treatment Procedures

You will need:
- 1.5 Cups of Hungarian Apothecary Mud
- A Microwave-safe bowl or esthetician's rubber bowl for a towel
cabi/sanitizer
- 1 Cup Dead Sea Salt or a body scrub/exfoliant of your choice
- Loofahs
- Small stainless steel bowl filled with warm water
- An electric or wool blanket
- Space Blanket (may be obtained at a spa supply house)
- Sheet of Cling Film or other sheer plastic sheet to line and
protect table
- Moisturizer of your choice
To set up for the treatment, prepare a massage bed or treatment
area by laying the electric or wool blanket flat on the surface
to be used. Cover the blanket with the space blanket. Next use the
protective layer of plastic sheeting or cling film to cover the
blankets protecting everything from contact with the mud.
Prepare a 1.5-cup portion of the Hungarian Apothecary Mud (may
be used hot or cold depending skin type, personal preference and/or
time of year). If a warm treatment is desired, warm the mud in the
rubber esthetician's bowl in the towel cabi/sanitizer or in a microwave
oven for one minute on a high setting.
The practitioner should begin by having the client lie face down
and positioned comfortably on the massage bed.
Using the hands, begin by dampening the skin by massaging gently
all over with a small amount of warm water. When the entire body
is moist, you should then either use a Loofah or bare hands and
massage small amounts of the sea salt or body scrub on over the
entire backside of the client's body massaging the scrub in long,
gentle strokes.
Begin to apply the Hungarian Apothecary Mud (warm or cold) to the
body atop the scrub. You may use your hand or a brush. Spread a
fine and even layer. When that is completed, have the client roll
over and repeat the process on the front side as previously described,
beginning with warm water, followed by scrub and ending with the
layering of the Hungarian Apothecary Mud.
When this is competed to wrap the clients' body, first pull the
plastic wrap sheet or cling film up and around entire body wrapping
it comfortably. Then one by one continue wrapping the client's body
next layers; the space blanket, followed by the electric or wool
blanket.
Secure the blankets and let the client rest for 20 to 30 min. The
longer the mud remains on the body, the better. When you feel the
mud is dry it has done its job.
Remove the mud in the tepid shower - Do not use hot water, do
not use SOAP. Pat the skin dry and complete the treatment by
moisturizing the body with a calming massage.
HUNGARIAN APOTHECARY MUD BATH

You will need:
- Two cups of Hungarian Apothecary Mud
As the mud dissolves in water to a very fine paste, it presents
no danger of clogging pipes and is suitable for use in standard
bathtubs. Do not, however, use in whirlpools baths or Jacuzzis and
hot tubs.
To begin your mud bath, add approximately 1 - 2 cups of mud to
running bath water. After filling the tub, sink into the water and
relax for at least 20 minutes. To increase the sensory pleasures
of the bath, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, like
lavender or rosemary. Rinse the mud off in a tepid shower, pat the
sky dry and apply a body moisturizer.
This therapeutic bath helps many skin conditions including psoriasis
and even acne. The mud bath is suggested as a once per week treatment.
HUNGARIAN APOTHECARY MUD THERAPUTIC SYNOVIAL
JOINT TREATMENT

You will need:
- Two pounds of Hungarian Apothecary Mud
- A Microwave-safe bowl or esthetician's rubber bowl for a towel
cabi/sanitizer
- Small stainless steel bowl filled with warm water
- An electric or wool blanket
- Space Blanket (may be obtained at a spa supply house)
- Sheet of Cling Film or other sheer plastic sheet to line and
protect table
- Moisturizer of your choice
To set up for the treatment, prepare a massage bed or treatment
area by laying the electric or wool blanket flat on the surface
to be used. Cover the blanket with the space blanket. Next use the
protective layer of plastic sheeting or cling film to cover the
blankets protecting everything from contact with the mud.
Prepare the Hungarian Apothecary Mud (may be used hot or cold depending
skin type, personal preference and/or time of year). If a warm treatment
is desired, warm the mud in the rubber esthetician's bowl in the
towel cabi/sanitizer or in a microwave oven for one minute on a
high setting. It would be best to acquire a mud warmer from a spa
supply warehouse.
Apply the mud to the shoulders, elbows, back, neck, spinal column
and even the wrists and fingers. Use generous portions as the goal
is to encase the joints area in as much mud as possible. Remember,
however, that you can re-use the mud as it does not harbor any bacteria
or fungus. Let the mud remain on for up to 30 minutes. If heated,
the mud will retain heat due to its thermal abilities. The mud helps
to improve circulation which, in turn, helps flush the toxins from
the body. For injuries, you improve range of motion, and for arthritic
problems you create effective pain management and improve use of
your body.
When the time has elapsed, scrape the mud from the body then retain
the mud for future use. Rinse the body thoroughly in a tepid shower
and pat dry.
Mud can be re-used as it doesn't harbor bacteria.
